My Twins with thier Organic Rainbow Play Dough
Organic Rainbow Playdough is fun for both children and adults. Unlike store bought play dough, organic play dough is not made with harsh chemicals. Not that you would want to eat the organic play dough because it probably tastes pretty bad- but if you or your child did it is completely non-toxic. (Although- I do know how to make flavored play dough that is pretty yummy! Its a big hit at the kids parties) The recipe for organic play dough is really basic you mix organic flour, organic sea salt, organic cream of tarter, distilled water, organic olive oil or organic coconut oil and (optional-organic food coloring). You do have to cook it for quite a while and stir the whole time with a wooden spoon to prevent burning. You will feel like you had a mini-workout after you make it. As the dough forms it's really thick and difficult to stir; then after the organic play dough is cooked you have to knead each color for at least 10 minutes until it resembles play dough consistency. Once finished you store it in an airtight container and it keeps for about 6 months.
HolisticMama Guest Questions and Comments "Hi, I just visited your site and it is absolutely wonderful!! I only wish I would have found it sooner. Last night I paid $5.00 for the salt dough recipe! Never even occured to me to look on the web for it! Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate you giving your information for free. I was also wondering if you could tell me how to dry fruit. Do I just slice it and then sit it out for a few days or is there something else that needs to be done to it. If I put it in the oven will it dry out quicker? ( I do not have a dehydrator and really can't afford to get one. I hope you have a cheaper alternative :) Thank you." Thanks for your kind email. Take a peek at the how to dry fruit page. I love to dry fruit to make my own potpourri as gifts and we also dry out fruit for the kids snacks.
