| Recycling Old Jeans If you have children or if you are among the millions of dieters you can relate to my dilema of tons of jeans that do not fit anyone in my family at any given time. If you decide not to donate them to a local charity, you might consider some of the following ways to recycle your old jeans. Recycling old jeans idea #1: Cut up the legs of the blue jeans into large squares so you can make patches when newer jeans wear out on the knees. Cut the legs off the jeans and serge or fold under the edges and make shorts. Recycling old jeans idea #6: Make a blue quilted blue jean draw string bag. Recycling old jeans idea #7: If the jeans are high waters but still fit around the belly, (for a girl) add a nice piece of lace around the bottom of the jeans to extend the legnth. Or you can make a decorative cuff by quilting three strips of scrap fabrics and serging them onto the bottom of the legs. These are actually really in style right now- nothing like being eco-chic!
